Salman Syed

Greetings to all who knew me, Salman Syed, or as many affectionately called me, Sal. Born on a bright April day in 1942 in Decatur, IL, I embarked on a journey that spanned 82 beautiful years, culminating on October 31, 2024. I had the privilege of being a reliable friend, a loyal companion, a shoemaker, and a football coach, but most importantly, a loving family member to all those named Sarah Kravitz. My life was filled with laughter, love, and countless moments of joy, but they were made all the more special because of the people I shared them with.

at vibrant city. I carried the spirit of its people with me always, infusing my life with its unique blend of grit and grace. As I often said, “The only things you can take with you when you leave this world are the things you've packed inside your heart.” I hope I was able to pack a little piece of myself inside all of your hearts.

I leave behind a wonderful family, including my devoted spouse, cherished daughters, beloved sisters, treasured mother, and a precious granddaughter, all bearing the beautiful name of Sarah Kravitz. I hope my life served as a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and the simple joy of being reliable.

So here's to a life well-lived, and to the infinite memories we shared. My journey here may have ended, but the love we shared and the memories we created will always remain.
