Jolene Frederick

Jolene Pearl Frederick, affectionately known by her loved ones as "Cookie," was a charismatic and empathetic soul whose life was a vibrant tapestry of love, learning, and dedication to the welfare of animals. Born on March 19, 1940, in Phoenix, Arizona, Jolene carried the warmth and spirit of her birthplace throughout her life, spreading sunshine wherever she went. Her journey led her to the loving arms of her husband, Frank Frederick, whom she married on May 16, 1965. Together, they lived in various cities, including Bend, Oregon, and Sierra Vista, Arizona, before settling down in Boise, Idaho.

Jolene dedicated her professional life to the noble art of teaching, nurturing countless young minds and instilling in them a love for knowledge. Her infectious energy and ability to connect with her students on a personal level made her a beloved figure in the world of education. Even in retirement, her commitment to learning never waned. She filled her leisure time with hobbies that challenged her intellectually and creatively, such as knitting and fishing. Jolene was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was awarded the prestigious Barbie Award in 2023 for her outstanding contributions to her community.

Jolene will be deeply missed by her mother, Belinda Smart, and sister, Gloria Reed. Her husband, Frank Frederick, precedes her in death. Jolene's empathy and warmth touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

A service to celebrate Jolene's life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. EST at Your Funeral Home, 1020 N. Hickory Ave., Suite 110, Meridian, Idaho, 83642. The interment will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. MST at Hailey Cemetery, 511 Maple Street, Hailey, Idaho, 83333.
